Message from the Organisers
With great pleasure and honor, we organized the 19th International Conference on the Computation of Electromagnetic Fields COMPUMAG 2013. There were 747 original and previously unpublished papers submitted from 41 countries of five continents worldwide. After a thorough review process, 539 presentations were included in the final program of the Conference. Authors of those papers that were properly presented in the conference were invited to submit extended versions of their contributions for peer review and possible acceptance in the IEEE Transaction on Magnetics. In response to this invitation, 479 papers were submitted for consideration, with 259 papers accepted for inclusion in the vol. 50, No. 2 issue of IEEE Transaction on Magnetics. We are very thankful to the members of the Editorial Board and the reviewers for their invaluable contribution to the success of the Conference by selecting the best papers and by preparing a high quality scientific program.
COMPUMAG 2013 featured 24 posters and 9 plenary oral sessions, one of the oral sessions was dedicated to Testing Electromagnetic Analysis Methods (TEAM) Workshop problems. Out of the total 471 delegates attending the conference, 143 were student participants. To promote the attendance of students, the organizers initiated the “Best Student Papers Award.” In the framework of this, the registration of 15 students were granted free or at a rate reduced by 50%.
We sincerely hope that COMPUMAG 2013 served its role in inspiring our scientific community in the area of electromagnetic modeling. We also hope that participants found the Conference fruitful and enjoyed their stay in Budapest. Many photos have been taken at the conference, they hopefully call the memories of the best moments to our mind. The gallery can be visited here.
Compumag in brief
Over the years, COMPUMAG Conference on the Computation of Electromagnetic Fields has became the reference conference of researchers working in developing new numerical techniques for electromagnetics. This conference can be considered as the birth place of today's widely used commercial electromagnetic field calculation software. Furthermore it is a forum where devices and applications, which require nonstandard approach, are discussed.
It is our great pleasure to announce the 19th Compumag Conference held in Budapest between 30 June - 4 July, 2013. We hope that Compumag 2013 will be a worthy continuation of this biannual conference series, started in 1976, Oxford.
The organising committee look forward to meeting you in Budapest!
